At age 36, Carlton died from coronary occlusion on 10 June 1962 at R.D. 2, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.2 He was interred on 13 June 1962 in the Salem Church of Christ Cemetery, Bowman Ridge, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia;2

Jennie F. Church1

Jennie married John G. Davis on 16 October 1908 at New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia. D. L. Ash, a minister, certified that he united the couple in marriage.3

Jennie's life was far from being an easy one - her husband had her institutionalized at Weston State Hospital shortly before she turned 35 - and she was there until she died at the age of 78. A detailed account of her life can be found on Denise Murphy's blog, Living in the Past.4

At age 78, Jennie died from a cerebral hemorrhage due to cerebral arteriosclerosis on 26 February 1963.1 She was interred on 28 February 1963 in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery, Wetzel County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Jennie Davis." The inscription reads, "1884-1963."1

At age 72, Lavester died on 19 November 1984 in Hood General Hospital, 1310 Paluxy Road, Granbury, Hood County, Texas.2

An obituary was published on 25 November 1984 in the Hood County News.2 The following is a transcription of that obituary:

"L. O. "Speck" Davis
     L. O. "Speck" Davis, 72, of Granbury died Nov. 19 in Hood General Hospital. Mr. Davis was born Dec. 23, 1911 in Clarksburg, W. Va. and was married to Era Thail Davis.
     A Baptist, Mr. Davis was a retired welder and lived most of his life in the Thorp Spring area.
     He is survived by a daughter, LaWana Sparks of Granbury; two sons, David Timothy Davis of Weatherford and Monroe Davis of Granbury; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
     Rev. Mike Shields and Rev. J. B. Carroll officiated the graveside services held Tuesday at Thorp Spring Cemetery in Thorp Spring.
     Martin's Funeral Home of Granbury was in charge of arrangements."
