Shannon Wiley Blake1,2

ID#2554, b. 12 October 1877, d. 16 October 1955
Father: Isaac B. Blake.3
Mother: Mary Jane Griffeth.3

Birth date: 12 October 1877.3
Birth place: Greene County, Pennsylvania.1 His death certificate gives West Virginia as his place of birth, but I believe that is incorrect. At this point I lean toward the marriage record giving the correct location for two reasons: (1) Shannon himself was the informant on the marriage license vs. his wife being the informant on his death record. (2) The marriage event occurred much closer to the birth event than the death event did, which generally indicates a higher chance of accuracy.3

Shannon married Odessa "Dessie" Emery on 9 November 1902 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.4

At age 78, Shannon died on 16 October 1955 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, Marshall County, West Virginia.3 He was interred on 18 October 1955 in the Salem Church of Christ Cemetery, Bowman Ridge, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia.3
